Economic and political pressures can shape state policymaking in surprising ways.

If you had to explain this dataset to an 8th grader, how would you describe it?

Political and economic data from US states when the federal government passed a major economic development law in 2009.

What's one thing you wish more people understood about this dataset or the process of creating it?

The dataset captures variation on two dimensions: space and time.

What do you do when not at work?

Eat! I am a major foodie, and love exploring new restaurants and cuisines.

What have you read/viewed/listened to/etc. recently?

Abbott Elementary is a mainstay on my family watchlist!

What might surprise us about you?

I have been skydiving.
