Updated Future of Families and Child Wellbeing Study (FFCWS) Datafiles
The Future of Families and Child Wellbeing Study (FFCWS), Public Use, United States, 1998-2024 has been updated to correct variable labels, value labels, and other data inconsistencies in datasets (DS) 1-5 and 12.
- Value labels for the following variables have been corrected: cm1citsm, cm1citysm, cm1med, m1i2i, f1j5a, f1j5b, m1a13a, f1g1, m1g1, f2a4, r3f28_mo, and r3f28a_mo. (DS1, DS2, DS3, DS4)
- The variable label for p4k14a_102 was corrected to revise a typographical error. (DS1, DS5)
- Missing data codes for k7c22 were corrected. (DS1, DS12)
FFCWS follows a cohort of nearly 5,000 children born in large, U.S. cities between 1998 and 2000 and consists of interviews with mothers, fathers, and/or primary caregivers at birth and again when children are ages 1, 3, 5, 9, 15, and 2. The study is supported in part by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
