The National Archive of Data on Arts and Culture (NADAC), funded by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), is thrilled to announce the addition of the latest 2022 data to the Consumer Expenditure (CE) Survey Summary Tables. These tables offer valuable insights into the spending habits of American consumers and are now available for free download from NADAC.

The CE Survey Summary Tables, part of the Consumer Expenditure Survey program conducted by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and the U.S. Census Bureau, provide comprehensive insights into consumer spending patterns. They cover a wide range of cultural activities and spending categories, including:

  • Admissions to plays, theater, opera, concerts, movies, parks, and museums
  • Spending on newspapers, magazines, books, and digital book readers
  • Spending on other arts-related items such as musical instruments, photographic equipment, and audio-visual equipment
