What happens to my data after the deposit?

After deposit for curation, a data curator reviews the data and documentation, builds a study description for the study home page, performs a disclosure risk review to determine access level, and standardizes the files for usability. This process includes making quantitative data files available in several widely-used formats, including ASCII, tab-delimited (.tsv file for use with Excel), SAS, SPSS, Stata, and R. Documentation files are made available as PDFs. All curation work is quality checked before data are approved for release on the ICPSR website.
